Harold Sy, M.D. completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.  He received his M.D. degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois.  Following a surgical internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, Dr. Sy completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cook County Hospital/John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in Chicago where he was recognized for outstanding research.  Dr. Sy subsequently pursued further specialty training completing a fellowship in Diseases of the Cornea, Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery with the Eye Consultants of Atlanta.  Dr. Sy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  Dr. Sy is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Sy has extensive experience with refractive procedures such as LASIK, IntraLase, PRK and with the use of multifocal lenses for the treatment of cataract.  Dr. Sy joined the Chicago Eye Institute in 2007.
